Biomass Connect has been named the winner of the prestigious Pioneer Award at the British Renewable Energy Awards. The award recognises Biomass Connect’s pioneering efforts in advancing the biomass industry and biomass crop technologies, and promoting sustainability.
The British Renewable Energy Awards celebrate the best in the industry, and the Pioneer Award recognises newly formed companies or organisations that have gone above and beyond in driving forward innovative renewable energy solutions, which includes biomass crop production.
Biomass Connect’s work so far has played a vital role in promoting biomass crop production and research, with the goal of reducing UK carbon emissions. This award specifically reflects the Platform’s commitment to knowledge sharing and collaboration to support the biomass sector.
Henry Payne, Biomass Connect Project Manager, said about this award: “We are absolutely thrilled to receive this Pioneer Award. It is a great honour to be recognised for the work we have done in promoting biomass crop production, as part of the UK drive towards Net Zero. We are passionate about the advancement of biomass crop technologies and their role in reducing carbon emissions and promoting a greener world.”
The Biomass Connect team, comprised of numerous UK research and commercial organisations from across the biomass sector, would also like to thank all of the incredible judges who had to make such difficult decisions in choosing winners from a strong field of nominations this year and would like to congratulate the winners and nominees across all categories. We have so much to be proud of as an industry and these winners, and indeed all of the nominees, very best from across the renewable energy sector.
Representatives of Biomass Connect were on hand to collect the award at the recent awards ceremony.
