This workshop is for those concerned with land use management in the area. Miscanthus & willow can diversify farm incomes & improve carbon storage, flood mitigation, & biodiversity in certain settings.
Recommendations to increase biomass planting to meet UK carbon targets have implications for farmers. This workshop will provide information about the benefits &impacts of these crops to farmers &stakeholders.
The workshop will present & seek feedback on:
- The latest scientific evidence about the benefits & impacts of these crops
- Local examples showing where best to grow these crops to optimise benefits &minimise impacts
- Estimates of potential crop yields &income
- Landscape visualisations of these crops in the local area.
