In April 2023, Biomass Connect held a stakeholder consultation workshop with experts from the biomass industry to better understand the key challenges currently facing the industry and how these could best be addressed by the programme.

Biomass Connect together with Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC) successfully hosted two demonstration events at SRUC hub sites in Ayrshire and Edinburgh, Scotland. The events were attended by a diverse group of land managers, consultants, biomass processors, policy makers, and researchers.

The UK has made substantial strides in the pursuit of renewable energy sources, and biomass could play a crucial role in achieving sustainability and reducing carbon emissions. However, to fully harness the potential of this green energy source, a recent Farmers Weekly article identified several key requirements.
