An interview with Abi Reader from South Wales who is trialling Sida as a biomass crop on her farm in South Wales.

The planting continues at the Biomass Connect Hub Site. Last week, Energy Crops Consultancy (ECC) planted a 6-way-mix of SRC willow at the BGI Hub Site.

We would like to draw your attention to a funding opportunity that may be of interest. The ‘Perennial Biomass Crops for Greenhouse Gas Removal (PBC4GGR)’ project is offering proof of concept grants for projects up to a year in duration, and with a total value not exceeding £50,000. Projects should address key knowledge gaps in perennial biomass crops deployment. Applicants must meet standard eligibility criteria for UKRI funding.  

The flurry of planting at the various Biomass Connect hub sites continues. We've already reported on the planting at the BGI Hub site in Chesham and the IBERS hub site in Aberystwyth. We're pleased to report that the hand-planting of trees at the Rothamsted Research hub site in North Wyke has been completed this week too.
