Most crops are now growing well at the Headley Hall Demonstrator Hub. As the weather improves and the days lengthen growth rates increase in both the crops and the weeds and grass. We've been keeping on top of these. The Sida plot was also planted at the beginning of May.

As the weather improves and the days lengthen growth is speeding up. This includes the weeds and grass, so management of these has been the main emphasis this month. The 2024 Miscanthus variety trail and the Sida plots have been planted up this month too.

The Sustainable Grass and Muck event held on Thursday, 30th May 2024, at Aberystwyth University Farm, Trawsgoed, was a significant gathering for sharing knowledge on sustainable agricultural practices in the face of changing climatic conditions. The event, one of the largest of its kind in the UK, drew visitors from across the country.
Demonstrator Hub Updates – April 2024

The month of April has been a busy one at the Biomass Connect Demonstrator hubs. Overall, the schedule is on track. Wet weather has still been a major issue for using heavy machinery on already very sodden ground at the majority of sites. Some sites have however been able to get on the land which is a positive. Spring growth is now good across the country and we are looking forward to a productive summer season.
